S501’s Heo Young Saeng postpones solo debut due to an injury

SS501′s Heo Young Saeng was originally scheduled to make his solo debut on April 28th, but plans have been pushed back after he sustained an injury during rehearsals.

B2M Entertainment reported, “Heo Young Saeng was practicing his choreography in the training room on the night of the 19th. He injured the back of his hand and was immediately rushed to the hospital. Test results showed that his hand has a ruptured ligament (desmorrhexis) and a fracture that will take five weeks to heal. He’s currently hospitalized and is awaiting further results.”

Due to the sudden injury, all of the schedules for his solo promotions have been postponed.

His representative added, “Mentally, Heo Young Saeng is extremely upset over the fact that he must push back on his promise with his fans. He’s determined to push forward with a cast if it’s possible, so we’ll be discussing release dates as soon as he is discharged.”

SS501′s Heo Young Saeng will finally be following in the footsteps of his bandmates by going solo!

His agency, B2M Entertainment, revealed, “Heo Young Saeng will be working with Sweetunes, the composing team behind the majority of KARA’s hit tracks. He won’t be going for a ballad, but will present a strong dance track instead.”

As the main vocalist of SS501, Heo Young Saeng already had his vocal talent recognized by the masses. Consequently, fans expected him to come out with a sultry ballad that displayed more of his talent. Young Saeng, however, is more determined than ever to show a new side of himself through his title track, “Let It Go.”

With three out of the five SS501 members promoting in the industry, and Kim Hyun Joong preparing for his solo as well, fans can expect a busy year from the members. Kim Kyu Jong will also be transitioning into acting, and is currently taking acting lessons.

Kim Hyunjoong solo debut in June

Actor (lol) and SS501 member Kim Hyunjoong will also be releasing his solo debut album this year. He is the fourth SS501 this year to be releasing a solo album. He follows Park Jungmin ("The, Park Jungmin"),Kim Hyungjoon ("Girl"), and Heo Youngsaeng ("Let It Go"). Kim Kyujong is the only SS501 member to have not announced an album release so far, and he will be focusing on his acting instead.

Kim Hyunjoong's solo album will be released in June and he will make his official debut as a solo singer. A representative from his agency, Key East, said to Newsen in an interview on April 8th, "A variety of songs have been selected and he will soon go into recording."

He will be focusing on the recording of his album and will not participate in external activities.

Korean hip-hop artists unite for “Stand Up, Japan!”

Renowned indie hip-hop producer Nuol, Verbal Jint, Swings, Beenzino, Dead P, L.E.O, Baby Bu, Dawn and JYP Entertainment’s San E have teamed up to support the victims of the earthquake in Japan on March 11th through the song, “Stand Up, Japan!”

On April 6th “Stand Up, Japan!”, produced by Nuol, was released on various music sites as a digital single featuring an acapella and instrumental versions. The lyrics convey a positive message aimed to cheer the people of Japan and all the proceeds will be donated to Japan relief efforts.

Meanwhile, the album artwork was provided by Korean clothing design brand Brownbreath.

SS501’s Park Jung Min reveals his thoughts on working as a solo artist

Despite his seven-year career in the music industry, SS501’s Park Jung Min has been dealing with a lot of ‘firsts’ ever since he returned with his solo album, “Not Alone.”
Out of all five of his fellow group members, he’s the first to officially kick off a solo career. Although he originally intended to return last November, he delayed it for two months out of respect for the Yeonpyeong Island skirmish.
He began, “I attempted for the first time to write all of the songs in the album. I wanted to deliver my honest thoughts through my own voice. I’ve always liked drawing and writing, but it was an aspect of myself that I wasn’t able to express with SS501. I’m planning to write the lyrics for every new song that will be out under my name. The thought of someone reading my lyrics made me feel shy and pressured at first, but writing little by little brought out a sort of excitement.”
When asked about the differences between performing as a soloist and with a group, he replied, “There’s no time to rest as a soloist, since I have to do everything on my own. With SS501, I was able to sleep when the other members went into filming (laughter). As a soloist, all of the focus is on me.”
Park Jung Min then revealed that he underwent a 12 kg weight loss. “It’s difficult to lose weight the first time, but now, no matter how much I eat, I just don’t gain weight. My basic stamina has improved. Even though my schedule is busy, I try to fit in exercise. Kim Jong Kook-hyung, Super Junior, and SHINee all come to my gym. Since all of their bodies are shaping up, I can’t lose to them, now can I?”
The star also discussed SS501’s new group album, which is scheduled for release later this year. “Once SS501’s schedule is confirmed, I’m planning to postpone my personal activities. As opposed to going out of everyone’s way to make it happen, I’d rather that we just naturally came together.”
His goal for the new year is to tour at least five countries. Park Jung Min explained, “Park Jung Min is part of SS501, but through my solo album, I want to let the public know who I am. My 2011 goal is to become a man that people want to hug (laughter). Since I am of age now (25), I want to express a more masculine aspect of myself.”

SS501 Heading To Taiwan For Golden Melody Awards

It has been confirmed that SS501, will be heading to Taiwan in June for the 21st Golden Melody Awards.
Having just ended their Asian concert tour at the beginning of the year, they are currently in the midst of practicing singing and dancing, and choosing outfits for the ceremony. Besides being performance guests, the five of them will also be presenting an award. Filled with anticipation, after returning to Korea from Japan, they threw themselves into rehearsal.

Last year, in October, SS501 held their concert in the Taipei Arena and have now received the offer to take part in Taiwan's Golden Melody Awards. Despite having a fully packed schedule while working on their new album, the five agreed immediately and set aside everything else on their schedule.

SS501 are looking forward to their first time participating in the Chinese music scene and hope to interact with more Taiwanese artistes. They will be singing their chart-topping song as well as their latest single for their performance.

It was revealed that SS501 leader Kim Hyun Joong and Korean hallyu megastar Bae Yong Joong had a secret private meeting on the 28th.

Fans are particularly interested in this because the two don’t seem to have much in common. Talented singer Gummy’s new mini album title song As a Man teaser was released earlier today.
The song As a Man has been receiving a lot of attention as one of Teddy’s productions and became an even greater subject of attention when it was revealed that SS501’s handsome Kim Hyun Joong and actress Jung Ryeo Won would be featured in the song’s MV.

SS501 leader Kim HyunJoong shedding tears at the Encore Concert is the topic of discussion.

In the episode of KBS 2TV ‘Entertainment Relay’ broadcasted on 6-Mar, it shows SS501’s Seoul Encore Concert which is the finale of their Asia Tour from August, lasting for half a year and through 6 countries.

In this concert, SS501 members specially prepared solo performances. Kim KyuJong’s powerful dance song ‘WUSS UP’, Heo YoungSaeng’s Seo TaiJi & Boys ‘Our Memories’, Kim HyungJoon’s ‘Girl’ and Park JungMin ‘Cute Lips’ with Rainbow, etc.

SS501 to make comeback on May 1st!

SS501 just recently wrapped up their final encore concert on February 27, but it looks like they’ve already got their eyes set on their upcoming return, which is set for, well, 05-01-2010. (Get it??)

Daesung Entertainment, the quintet’s agency, has yet to decide whether SS501’s comeback will come in the form of a mini-album or full-album release. However, the confirmed 501 Day comeback has already gotten fans rustling in excitement.

With their REBIRTH mini-album release last fall, the members’ individual activities as well as the group’s pan-Asian tour, in which the young men visited Seoul (Korea), Tokyo (Japan), Taipei (Taiwan), Shanghai (China) and Hong Kong (China), SS501 has been quite busy for a while, but that isn’t stopping them from making May 1 an extra-special day for their fans.

The young men of SS501 have reportedly already begun working on this album and will return with a completely new image, so I’m sure it’ll turn out to be something great for all of us eager kpop fans; stay tuned!

SS501 holds a successful concert

SS501 held an encore concert for their Asia tour in Seoul tonight and it was a success. Not only did Kara and Rainbow (members of the DSP Entertainment family) join them but they also pleased fans whose ages ranged from teens to 50-year-olds. Many international fans came out all the way to Korea just to see these boys.
SS501 said, “We had a great Asia tour for six months in eight countries. We wanted to thank you guys because this was all possible because of you.”
They sang Deja Vu, A Song Calling For You, U R Man, Love Like This, Snow Prince and more. Special guest Kara wowed the crowd with their newest track Lupin and their hit Mister.
SS501 said at the press conference before the concert, “Because of this Asia tour, we matured a lot. I think you will be able to tell from the solo stages.”
Kim Hyung Joon sang Take Care by Jung Yup and Girls. Kim Kyu Jong sang Never Let U Go, Park Jung Min sang Don’t Do That. Heo Young Saeng sang Our Memories and Find. It showed a new side of him because he showed off his rapping skills.
Kim Hyun Joong’s solo stage was very memorable. He came on to stage on a motorcycle and sang Please Be Good To Me and did a sexy dance with a girl back dancer. I’m sure the fans liked that a lot!
SS501 said to their fans, “We missed you all. Thank you for waiting. We will come back with a second album so please get excited.”
For the end of the concert, they came out in t-shirts and casual attire and really had fun with themselves and their fans. The best news for fans is that they are supposedly making a comeback in May! That’s just around the corner.

For the past few weeks we’ve seen SS501’s Kim Hyung Joon trying his hand at Starcraft on MBCGame’s Becoming a Pro Gamer. Over the past few episodes we’ve seen him befriend the MBC Game Team Captain Shark, even going as far as letting him meet the pretty girls of Rainbow.
On February 10th, both Kim Hyung Joon and Shark appeared on the radio program SBS Music High. It seems Mutalisk Stacking isn’t the only thing that Shark is good at as he showed off his singing ability by singing SS501’s song from the Boys Over Flowers soundtrack, Because I’m Stupid. Brothers SS501 Kim HyungJoon and U-KISS KiBum’s ‘lazybone’ runs in the family?

MBC Game (MBC Plus Media representative Jang GeunBok) revealed that ‘SS501 HyungJoon, To Be A Pro-Gamer’, which made its first broadcast on 27-Jan, was ranked 1st in the same time slot including the terrestrial broadcasted programs, and ranked 1st for instant highest viewership including terrestrial broadcasted programs.

According to viewership research company TNS, ‘SS501 HyungJoon, To Be A Pro-Gamer’ had its first broadcast through MBC Game on 27-Jan (Wed), made an average viewership from the national male population aged 13~25 at 1.0366% (market share 18.06%), and 1.184% (market share 25.06%) based on national male population in their twenties, making them to be ranked 1st including other terrestrial broadcasted program.

After 15 minutes of broadcast, at about 16:30hrs, it recorded 1.344% of instant highest viewership based on national male population aged between 13~25 and made it to the 1st position beating even terrestrial broadcasted program. Based on national male population in their twenties, it recorded instant highest viewship of 1.57% at about 17:00hrs. There are a lot of attention on this as he is a member of an idol group, right after the broadcast, the real-time search ranking in Naver website has ‘Kim HyungJoon’, ‘Kim HyungJoon To Be A Pro-Gamer’ in the 1st and 3rd place respectively.

Meanwhile, the producer Lee SoonOk analyses why the viewership is ranked higher among males than females, “The dreams of teenagers who wants to be a pro-gamer are being satisfied through this. We see that they induce their own personal feelings on the main cast.”
‘SS501 Kim HyungJoon, To Be A Pro-Gamer’ is a real variety program where SS501 member Kim HyungJoon challenges to be a pro-gamer, experiencing the failures and successes, airing every Wednesdays at 4pm through MBC Game channel.

[News] SS501 Persona Encore Concert ticket is sold out! Interpark server was down!

In the coming Feb 27 & 28 , top group SS501 will hold their Encore concert in Seoul Olympic Park.

The group started their Asia Tour since Aug 2009 and been touring overseas and visited places like Tokyo, Shanghai, Taipei, and Hong Kong. They will end their overseas concert by throwing a concert in Bangkok – Thailand on Feb 13,2010.

As for their upcoming Encore concert, an online ticketing site Interpark opened the 1st Day SS501 Persona Encore Concert ticket reservation yesterday (Jan 27,2010) from 7:00 pm local time. And according to Interpark staff, “The site visitor concurrently reached up until 50.000 people and this has made Interpark server down, yet, we recovered the site hurriedly and continue the ticket sales”. It is also reported that the soonest it’s opened Interpark has sold the whole 15.000 seat for the 1st day concert.

The Encore concert will be held at the Olympic Park – Gymnastics Stadium, Seoul in 2 days schedule : Feb 27 (7:00 pm) and Feb 28 (5:00 pm). DSP Media also stated that the fans will enjoy more interesting shows as the concert will be different from last year’s concert.

Meanwhile, SS501 2nd day Encore concert ticket reservation will be open via Interpark site as well.

[News] SS501 to close their Asia Tour with Encore Concert in Seoul!

Top boygroup SS501 will wrap up their Asia Tour as the boys will execute their last concert performance through their Encore concert in Seoul in the upcoming Feb 27th and Feb 28th at Olympic Park Gymnastics Stadium in Seoul.
Their Asia Tour was opened last August in Seoul, and continued to other location in overseas such as : Tokyo, Shanghai, Taipei and Hong Kong giving spectacular performances for their fans.

Leader Kim HyunJoong was getting everyone’s attention as he always gives sexy performance in his solo stage whilst other member Park Jungmin gave another fan service by singing local famous song in their language.

It is shared by their agency DSP Media that this encore concert will be different from the previous concerts as the boys will give their fans new shows line up.

Meanwhile, before throwing their encore concert , this coming Feb 13, SS501 will held their concert in Bangkok-Thailand.

Tickets for the SS501 – Seoul Encore Concert can be purchased in Interpark starting Jan 27th,2010 at 7 pm local time.

My friend's aunt was in Canada for a business trip and she met JaeJoong, HyunJoong at the airport. Here is her account.

Well, let see! Where should I begin?
It’s about my experience with meeting two famous Korean celebrities while waiting for my flight at a business launch in Canada Airport.

They are Kim Hyun Joong (Jihoo from BOF) and his friend, Kim YaeJoong. I’m an old chap, not a big fan of anything, but I do watch/listen to Korean drama and music. My two nephews are dedicated fans, so they keep me updated once in a while.

The two young men were sitting right across from my seat. Since I was busy working on my laptop, I didn’t noticed their presents until one of their travel companions dropped something on the floor.

KHJ looks quite young in person. His complexion is amazingly nice. He’s very fair, and very pretty. He looks ethereal, almost like an angel himself. His skin is as nice as a child‘s. Women would go for extreme measures just to have that kind of skin (so unfair).
Kim YaeJoong is also very handsome. He looks a little quirky, but that makes him sexy. I found Jaejoong a little more approachable and down-to-earth, since he does not have that “God” vide look as KHJ does.

Those two seem very close. They didn’t talk much, but the way they exchanged eyes contacts and shared a drink showed their closeness. I watched them from behind my laptop (he he … shame on me, an old lady). At one point, they made some loud noise and looked at me wary. I smiled just to reassure them. Jaejoong nod his head and I thought he said sorry. HyunJoong just smiled and shyly looked down. Right at that moment, I understood why they called him ‘prettier than flower’.

If I’m not wrong, Jaejoong is older than HyunJoong right? The younger one leaned on his friend’s shoulder and slept like a baby, while the older one sat till and even tried to put a coat on his young friend. I guess only Asian can show such affection to same-sex friends without the thought of been mistaken as homosexual. I found them really cute, and innocent.

I didn’t want to disturb or make them uncomfortable, I planned to wait to right before I leave for the flight to ask for their signatures, and pictures. Those will be great gifts for my two nephews. However, when I came back from the wash room, they were gone.

As a punishment for failing to get their pictures, my two nephews insisted me to write a fan account (?) to share my experience with all the fans. So, here it is, my first ever fan account. I hope you all enjoy it.
It was great to feel young, and being a fan girl once again. Thanks to the two gorgeous young men.

Popular group SS501 member Park Jung Min started his 1st actor role as 'Flowerly Begger'.

In the newly broadcast MBC Every 1 'Human Theatre 2010', as the main lead, Park Jung Min acted with his superb acting skill. He acted in the story as a person who won 2 million lottery, and from a rich man turning into a tramp.

'Human Theatre 2010' is a remake from the popular program 'Human Theatre' in the 90s. Although the basic structure of having a main actor who changed his life after making a choice remains unchanged, but following by the arrival of year 2010, more emphasis would be on topics which will gain more empathize from the public.

In the 1st broadcast in the 20th, Park Jung Min will turn into the Jung Min in the drama, acting as the lead actor who won the 1st prize lottery and holding on 2 billion won. Especially when met with the choice of whether wanting to hide the winning secretly and owning it alone, or telling people beside him and share the winning, and also suddenly turning into a begger. Jung Min has shown his exceptional acting in the rise and fall in these interlude.

'Human Theatre 2010' staff praised Park Jung Min acting saying: "In the last 5 days of filming, under the weather from the last few days which just have the heaviest snow storm in 103 years, the filming still have to be continued. Park Jung Min walked in the snow covering up till his knees, filming in much difficulties but he had never complained about it at all. Having such a passion and respect in his work, he won everybody's praises."

However, during the role changing, Park Jung Min actually has some anecdoct which caused everybody can't laugh. Jung Min appeared in the tramp styling in his disheveled clothings, however his originally exceptional good outlook doesn't even made looked like a tramp. This made the production team worried while filming the entire episode. After the filming, Park Jung Min received a new nickname 'Flowery Begger' from his working partners.

The looked of 'Flowery boy' Park Jung Min turning into 'Flowery begger' would be revealed in MBC Every1 'Human Theatre 2010' on the 20th night, 12.10am.

SS501 Park JungMin revealed that he picked up and kept the cigarette thrown away by actor Choi JaeSung.

Park JungMin revealed an incident during SBS ‘Intimate Note 3’ in the corner ‘Close Friends Regardless of Age’ to be broadcast on 22-Jan, that prior to his debut, he picked up and kept the cigarette from Choi JaeSung.

Park JungMin confessed “It was very amusing as it was the first time to see an entertainer, I picked up and kept the cigarette that Choi JaeSung smoked and thrown away. In addition, he said “Recently I re-discovered that cigarette again and I threw it away because it was dirty” which aroused a round of laughter.

김형준은 11월 8일 방송되는 SBS ‘퀴즈! 육감대결’ 최근 녹화에서 멤버들의 선택(?)을 받았다.

이날 김규종은 ‘술 값 회피 꼴불견 유형’에 관한 퀴즈 풀이에서 SS501의 술자리에 대해 말했는데 “가끔 SS501이 모여 술자리를 갖곤 하는데 계산할 때쯤 항상 ‘지갑을 놓고 왔다’고 말하는 멤버가 있다”고 밝혔다.

모두 그 멤버가 누군지 궁금해 하는 가운데 김규종과 몇 몇 멤버들은 막내인 김형준을 주시하기 시작했고 김형준은 당황해 하는 표정을 지어 웃음을 자아냈다.

[News] SS501 fans doubtful of SBS Inkigayo music chart results, request for clarification of breakdown

Fans of group SS501 has raised their doubts about her the production team of SBS Inkigayo derived on their #1 winner.

On SBS Inkigayo aired on 1st Noveber, SS501 won #2 on the show’s chart. With that, fans are saying that things do not make sense and requested for the breakdown of deriving at the #1 winner from the production team to the show.

The part about the breakdown that had the fans doubtful is the the album sales portion. Part of the fans have also started a protest thread on Inkigayo’s viewers noticeboard.

One SS501 fan said, “Do see the HanTeo chart. (SS501’s album) sold more than any other singer’s album. And on Friday, SS501 lose to SHINee by just 3000 points.”

*How Inkigayo calculates the scores : Research (20%), Album Sales (20%), Digital Online Charts (30%), Number of Times Broadcasted (20%) and Inkigayo Website Votes (10%).*

There were also doubts if there is combined calculation of the normal and limited edition of SS501’s album.

With that there are increasing number of posts on the viewers noticeboard asking to reveal the breakdown of how Inkigayo derive at the #1 winner to ask for clarifications.

There has not been any clarifications from Inkigayo yet.

[News] All 5 members of SS501 to appear on SBS ‘Strong Heart’

Coming back with their new minialbum ‘Rebirth’, all 5 members of SS501 will appear on SBS variety talk show ‘Strong Heart’.

Coming 5th November, they will be participating for the filming of the variety program in SBS GongGae Hall.

The meaning to this filming session is special because all 5 members will be on the show together, while all this while it has been hard to see all 5 members together on one variety show.

A staff to ‘Strong Heart’ revealed recently, “SS501 will appear on the show as full team. Please look forward to new stories revealed as all members appear on the show.”

Meanwhile, SS501 will be promoting their comeback title song ‘Love Like This’.

Who would have thought that SS501 leader Kim Hyun Joong had intially started out as bassist in a rock band? Hard to believe it, but it's definitely not a joke! On the MBC program "The Star Secret," footage of his 2003 youth band performing at a festival celebration will be revealed for the very first time.

Back in the day, this rock group had established themselves so well that the members were invited to perform at various competitions and festivals around their area. The leader of the band was interviewed and fondly recalled how Kim Hyun Joong's charms and music abilities were well beyond his years. The guitarist of another rock band, N.E.X.T., also praised the idol for his natural and confident performance abilities on stage, proving that he was a man of endless potential.

This episode will air on October 30th! Be sure to tune in and catch some undisclosed pictures of Kim Hyun Joong prior to his debut in 2005 as well as footage from behind the scenes filming on the set of Boys Over Flowers.

MTV 'Japan Korea Pop Music Craze' 3 days exclusive interview starting from 28 Oct New album 'Rebirth' give good results, releasing in Taiwan end of this month

SS501 held their 1st concert in Taiwan on 17 October. Upon arrival at Taiwan, other than rehearsal non-stop, they gave their exclusive TV interview to MTV music channel's 'Japan Korea Pop Music Craze'. They were very happy to meet their old friend MC Ken Wu again. During their previous visit to Taiwan, Ken Wu let them experienced their most unforgettable moment by tasting Taiwan's traditional bitter herbal tea. This time, he used marble soft drink to celebrate their full house concert. The 5 boys upon seeing the special means of opening the traditional marble soft drink, were very excited and found it interesting. The program had specially invited tarot card guru to read SS501's fortune. Unexpectedly, Park JungMin exposed some inside story on the spot, revealing that member HyungJoon has been wanting to go solo all this while and worried whether SS501 will remain together forever.

Originally the record company had provided some standard questions for SS501 to follow, unexpectedly this 5 boys do not play according to rules, and wanted to ask some 'real' questions! Knowing that using tarot card, they will be able to read their recent fortunes, all of them fight for their turn to ask questions. Kim KyuJong who was concerned of his health was reminded by the guru to take good care of his health. Heo YoungSeang asked shyly when he can find a girl friend, but only received response that due to the popularity and busy schedule of SS501, he would not be able to get a girl friend during this short period, YoungSaeng's face expression changed immediately and felt very disappointed. Kim HyungJoon wanted to ask whether the new album could won the 1st place, but was rebutted by Park JungMin, revealing that HyungJoon has always wanted to sing solo. Park JungMin asked the guru nervously how was the future development of SS501. The guru reminded the members to care for each other. Kim HyunJoong asked how long he can live, the fortune reading showed that Kim HyunJoong health condition is very good and do not need to worry about his health. The 5 boys felt better after listening to the fortune readings.

Kim HyunJoong who has been living in his own 4th dimensional world, didn't forgot to act funny during the interview. He removed his bracelet to play for some time, when he almost wanted to dismantle it for further examination, MC Ken Wu can't stand it anymore and helped him to fulfill his wish and by wearing the ear ring which was converted from the bracelet. This sudden act made the production team felt annoyed and yet funny. Being the leader of SS501, Kim HyunJoong was very concerned of the manners of his members. Upon entering the interview room, he immediately recognized MC Ken Wu and greet him passionately. After that when HyungJoon, the youngest of the team came in, he didn't heard Ken Wu's greeting due to the crowd and did not greet Ken Wu immediately. This was caught sight by leader Kim HyunJoong and he dragged HyungJoon over to greet Ken Wu! SS501 new mini album 'Rebirth' which has already been released in Korea on 20 October top major sales chart in Korea during its 1st day released. The main theme song 'Love Like This' was immediately raised to first place in Mnet.com and other major pop music chart. Their teaser MV which was just released online for a few days was also reached 40,000 hits! As for Taiwan, the 'Taiwan Limited Edition - Rebirth' album will start it sales from 30 October.

Kim Hyun Joong has taken the #1 spot for the Style Icon Awards........... Hyun Joong was already leading by a landslide when the poll first went up on the O'live tv website.

Korea popular boy band SS501 finally held their concert in Taiwan!
Upon arrival on 15 October, they had been frantically chased by their fans.
Some Hong Kong fans even flew to Taiwan purposely, just to attend their concert in Taipei Arena on 17 October.

Apart from their previous visit to Taiwan, half a year was not past yet. Returning again to Taiwan and going onto the stage of Taipei Arena, they prepared to give their fans a glamorous and special concert.

The schedule for their concert this time, all members had made full used of the time to concentrate on rehearsal. SS501 who had not arranged for any other schedule, specially give their exclusive interview for MTV music channel 'Japan Korea Pop Music Craze' program.
Wonderful and interesting interview, you could only see the most friendly and personal side in 'Japan Korea Pop Music Craze'!

In the program, SS501 and MC Ken Wu chatted about their feeling of returning to Taiwan. As leader Kim HyunJoong had just recovered from his illness, being able to make it to participate in the Taiwan concert , he was also in full anticipation of this special concert.
Member JungMin, felt extremely happy upon arrival, when seen the uniquely designed placard made by fans.

They were happy to meet again with the MC of 'Japan Korea Pop Music Craze' Ken Wu.

Tarot guru explained that SS501's new album will increase their popularity and their income. In a recent interview, SS501 who will soon be starting their busy promotion schedules for their new album, Rebirth, revealed that it was still early for them to break into America and they would be focusing on Asia for the time being.

SS501 expressed, "Many of our seniors have been entering the American market in recent times for promotions. But we feel that we still lack that something to do that. What's more important to us right now is our promotions in Korea and the rest of Asia. If we achieve good results in our Asia promotions, we might consider trying for the American market."

Having released their album earlier in the week, SS501 will begin their long awaited comeback with their title song, Love Like This on Music Core on 24th October.

[News] SS501’s Music Bank Comeback Stage Canceled

Yeah, I hear you snarling at the monitor already.

SS501's comeback stage on the October 23rd episode of KBS Music Bank has been canceled.

Due to Game 6 of the Korean Pro Baseball Series, Music Bank has been canceled. This is nothing new as two of our other favorite music shows Inkigayo and Music Core have also been canceled in the past due to live broadcast of baseball games.

On the official KBS Music Bank website, it was stateed that the October 23rd episode has been replaced with "Korean Pro Baseball Series Game 6," and that performers who were scheduled for the 23rd will most likely perform on the 30th instead.

Don't kill yourselves though. SS501 will still be making their comeback, a day later on Music Core on the 24th and Inkigayo the following afternoon, so all is not lost.

[News] SS501 to Release Mini-album in Korea (News about concert in SG!)

The five-member boy band SS501, which has been holding its first Asia tour entitled "Persona" since its debut in 2005, will release a mini-album in Korea late this month. Entitled "Rebirth," it's the first album to feature all five members in a year and seven months.

After performing in Korea and Japan in August, SS501 finally visited Taiwan to perform at the Taipei Arena. Kim Hyun-joong, who came down with swine flu in September during his stay in Japan, said his swine flu symptoms included a fever of over 39.5℃, diarrhea six to seven times a day, and coughs 4-5 times a minute.

Kim said, "It's like the worst degree of a cold. The most difficult part was being isolated. It's a very lonesome disease." He added that he was scared to see other swine flu patients who were hospitalized on the same floor with him dying of the disease. "I believed that I would recover," said the singer.

Following the chat about his swine flu experience, Kim went on to discuss the group's popularity in Taiwan. SS501 received a very warm welcome from its Taiwanese fans. The group held its first fan meeting in Taiwan in June, but it is SS501's first concert in that country. Five albums from SS501 that were released in Taiwan in July sold more than 100,000 copies in just three months, earning SS501 the White Gold Disc from the Taiwanese album distributor.

Taiwanese dailies covered SS501's arrival to Taiwan. One of them wrote that some 600 fans welcomed the group at the airport and were concerned to see Kim Hyun-joong looking emaciated after falling ill. The daily also added that SS501 was welcomed by 1,500 fans back in June when it visited the country for a fan meeting.

As was expected, SS501's concert in Taiwan was sold out. The group members said, "We rented a rehearsal room on the day of our arrival and rehearsed till midnight. The next day we held a news conference and rehearsed again from 3PM till midnight. We wanted to make everything perfect because the stage was different from Korea and Japan."

The repertoire of SS501's Asia tour concerts includes songs from its new mini-album. Its jacket features the name Steven Lee, who wrote all the songs. He is a Korean-American producer who also wrote for the popular German group US5 and top Japanese groups KAT-TUN and Arashi. The renowned music engineer Ken Lewis, who also worked with Usher and John Legend, took care of mixing, why choreographer AJ, who used to choreograph for Michael Jackson and Usher, created SS501's new dances.

Kim said, "Our new songs including the title song 'Love Like This' are pop-style numbers. We had many discussions with Steven Lee to come up with pop songs that appeal to the Korean public. This album is very special to us because it reflects our opinions. We wanted to create our own unique style while the K-pop scene was dominated by 'hook songs.' Rather than following trends, we wanted to set new trends."

Due to a number of problems, the album release was postponed by two months. The song that the group received from a music dealer to be used as a title song was found to have already been released overseas. To make things worse, the dealer turned out to have no right to sell the song and just wanted to reap profits.

Kim said, "The song that we heard on a plane on our way from Japan was identical to the song that we were to release soon. We notified our agency and realized that we had been duped by the dealer. Had we released that song, we would have been accused of plagiarism."

The new album contains five songs. The lyrics of one of them were written personally by the members for their fans. Kim Hyun-joong wrote the lyrics for the song "Obsess." The special edition of the album sold more than 30,000 copies on the day of its release; 20,000 additional copies are to be released soon in 10 countries.

The five members finally got together after being active solo for a long time. Kim Hyun-joong appeared in the TV drama "Boys Over Flowers," Park Jung-min acted in the musical "Grease," and Heo Young-saeng, Kim Hyung-joon and Kim Kyu-jong were active with the hit song "U R Man." This time, all five are determined to stay together for as long as possible.

SS501 will perform in Shanghai in November before it flies to Hong Kong in December and visits Thailand and Malaysia in January. In February, the group will perform in Singapore and Beijing.

"We realize that the U.S. music market is hard to succeed in. We want to lay a springboard in Asia before we advance into the Middle East, Africa and the U.S.," said the SS501 members.
